There's a Haitian proverb that says, "Nou la toujou" we are still here. Those three words carry the weight of an entire people's resilience, creativity, and pride. They are also the reason ZANTRAY exists.
I grew up surrounded by the colors, the warmth, and the spirit of Haiti. The music that fills the streets, the art painted on every corner, the food that tastes like home no matter where in the world you are. But like many in the diaspora, I found myself living far from the island building a life in France, navigating a world that didn't always reflect where I came from.
ZANTRAY was born from a simple desire: to keep that connection alive.
I wanted to create something that would let me and people like me carry a piece of Haiti wherever we go. Not just a souvenir, but a statement. A way of saying: this is where I come from, and I'm proud of it. Whether it's a mug you reach for every morning, a tote bag you carry through the city, or a shirt you wear on a summer day, every ZANTRAY product is a small act of remembrance.
But I also wanted quality. I've seen too many cultural products that feel like afterthoughts, designs that reduce a rich culture to a cliché. That's not what Haiti deserves, and it's not what you deserve either. Every item in the ZANTRAY collection is made with care, through partners who share our commitment to craftsmanship.
I've just launched this project, and I welcome your comments and suggestions. Please feel free to contact us at contact@zantray.store
So if you're part of the diaspora, or simply someone who appreciates beauty, culture, and meaning, welcome. You're in the right place.
Nou la toujou.
Jacob G, the Founder of ZANTRAY
